Recommendation:
Major Allan, officer commanding 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade Company, RCASC, landed in France with his unit in June 1944. During the campaign in North-west Europe, Major Allan has personally dealt with all the supply and transport problems of 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade. Under his guidance, 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade Company, RCASC has most efficiently carried out its duties under very trying active service conditions, with units of the brigade at times separated over an extremely wide frontage. His unit has all times been an example of the highest degree of proficiency and discipline, and due to Major Allan’s initiative, has developed a record which is second to none. Major Allan is personally responsible for these achievements; because of his skillful handling of his responsibilities, his remarkable foresight in anticipating demands and his intense devotion to duty at all times, he is worthy of the highest commendation.
