"Sergant Barradell was charged with the training operation and Administration of 21 Canadian Ground Defence Platoon, Headquarters "A" Troops Area First Canadian Army during the whole period of operations in the Netherlands.
That these functions were carried out sufficiently was due to his untiring efforts and great ability as an Non Commissioned Officer Commander . The men under his command on many occasions were reguired due to the shortage of personnel to perform extra guards and duties which greatly taxed their endurance . They performed their duties cheerfully and well due primarily to the inspiring leadership of sergeant Barradell and his sound understanding of man managemant . The great pride he and his command was evidened by his own irreproachable turnout and soldierly bearing of his subordinates . Sergeant Barradell Rendered invaluable service to this Headquarters during operations in enabling it to function without concern for its defence and a large part of its domestis administration . His Services merit high praise and commendation."
