"Lieutenant-Colonel Bradburn commanded the Algonquin Regiment during the entire period the Battalion was in Holland. At all times he was a splendid example to all ranks under his command and of great assistance to the civilian authorities with whom he came in contact. In October 1944 his Battalion was frequently the leading unit in the Brigade during the advance from Brasschaet through Esschen and Bergen op Zoom to Steenbergen. His skill and leadership undoubtedly resulted in the rapid liberation of this area despite determined enemy opposition. During November and December 1944 and January 1945 the Algonquin Regiment was holding a large sector of the line along the Maas River near Waalwijk in Holland. The efforts of this officer were largely responsible for the efficient administration of this area in both military and civilian matters. The burgomaster of Waalwijk has expressed his appreciation of these efforts in a letter a copy of which is attached to this citation. There can be no doubt that Lieutenant-Colonel Bradburn was an outstanding influence on his troops in their efforts to free Holland and facilitate the rapid return of pre-war conditions in the province of South Brabant."

"The Burgomaster of Waalwijk declares that the Algonquin troops under Colonel Bradburn were billeted in Waalwijk during the months of November and December 1944 and January 1945 and that, under the latter's command, they cleared away the last seats of German resistance south of the "Bergache Maas". As far as can be judged, it is owing to the judicious and energetic action of his troop that, right in the middle of the most critical days of the German counter-offensive, the enemy could not advance southwards across the "Bergache Mass". During the days that Waalwijk lay under the heaviest enemy gun fire, both the Civil Authorities and the population of Waalwijk have enjoyed every possible assistance of the Officers and Men. For this too we want to express our sincere thanks towards Colonel Bradburn, also on behalf of the whole Waalwijk population.
