Temporary Captain
Unit:
F Section, Special Operations Executive (SOE), British Government
Awarded on:
August 30th, 1945
Citation:
"This officer was parachuted into France in April 1944 as wireless operator to an important circuit in the DORDOGNE. He fulfilled this role with great skill and untiring devotion handling some 300 messages between April and Septermber.

Though forced to move about constandly to avoid German D/F vans which frequently detected his transmitter, BEAUCLERK never failed to get important messages through to H.Q. His devoted work under dangerous conditions made possible the delivery of large quantities of arms to his circuit, which achieved outstanding results on and after D-Day.

His commanding officer pays high tribute to the part BEAUCLERK played in the successes of the circuit in spite of the unpleasant and dangerous existance he was forced to lead.

For his courage, endurance and devotion to duty, it is recommended tha Captain BEAUCLERK be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (Military Division).

Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)
