Albert Kunst was a barge skipper from Sliedrecht. As a Line-crosser, he made 25 crossings between Sliedrecht and Lage Zwaluwe. This connection served to convey messages for the Dutch Bureau of Intelligence in liberated territory. It also carried hundreds of people including Allied pilots or soldiers left behind after the Battle of Arnhem. On the way back, they took food and medicines (especially Insulin) that were urgently needed.
