Bernhard Tesink was born on November 26th, 1898 as son to Carel Wilhelm Tesink and Trijntje van Teijens. In May 1940 he served as Kapitein with the 5e Depotcompagnie Bewakingstroepen and was partly responsible for recapturing airfield Ypenburg. During the occupation he commanded the resistance stootgroep "van Wel/Jan van Schaffelaar". The Tesink family lived at the Damsigtstraat 17 in Voorburg where they also hided people from the Germans. After World War Two he kept serving inthe Dutch Army and retired as Luitenant-Kolonel.
