Jan Cornelis van Gemeren was born on December 16th, 1899 as the son to Arie van Gemeren (July 1st, 1865, Ridderkerk - July 10th, 1941, Bussum) and Maria Wilhelmina Albers (August 12th, 1868, Amsterdam - June 1st, 1946, Bussum). On May 14th, 1925 he married in Amsterdam with Mathilda Elisabeth Rijnders (April 18th, 1906, Amsterdam - August 19th, 1966, Haarlem). The couple had three children. In 1951 the family emigrated to Bolivia and returned to the Netherlands in 1962.
