Biography
Enno-Erich von Limburg-Hetlingen became Leutnant on March 22nd 1913 with Infanterie Regiment 74. On June 20th 1918 he was promoted to Oberleutnant. He became Major on October 1st 1937. From January 1st 1939 he commanded the II. / Infanterie-Regiment 6 and became later Oberstleutnant. On March 1st 1942 he was promoted to Oberst. Later in the war he became commander of the Grenadier-Regiment 731, which was a part of the 711.Infanterie-Division, formed in April 1941. After being pulled out of action in 1944, the regiment was reformed in Holland and send to Hungary in December 1944 with the 711.Infanterie-Division. There it remained in action till its surrendering in Prague to the Soviets at the ending of the War.

No proof in Bundesarchiv, not for a proposal and not for an award ; source provided by von Seemen : "mitgeteilt vom ehem. Amtschef OKW/PA/P5 Obst. Steuer" ; the family of v.L.-H. is keeping a copy of a certificate by General Kreysing dated 15.04.1945 which is stating that v.L.-H. was suggested for the KC by Kreysing. In fact v.L-H. had a notification in the Wehrmachtsbericht on 07.04.1945 ; none of the formal procederes and files are to find like proposal entry date, entry in book "Verliehene Ritterkreuze", preparation of a HPA-VV or Karteikarte ; -> it is to notice the existance of a Soldbuch Ritterkreuz entry dated 06.04.1945.
