Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 138 Sqdn.

On May 22, 1943 at 00:53, the Handley Page Halifax BB329 "NF-Z" of 138 Squadron took off from Tempsford in the county of Bedfordshire to drop weapons at a drop site on the Veluwe.
At 2 a.m. the Halifax crashed in Noordbeemster.
Five crew members survived the crash and were taken prisoner of war.
Two crew members were killed, including Wild.
