    Brigadier Farmer distinguished himself by the capable and efficient manner in which he performed his duties as Deputy Director of Medical Services, 2 Canadian Corps during the operations which led to the liberation of Holland. His accurate appreciation of the medical requirements for all Operations and his skillful allocation and control of the units at his disposal enabled the medical services to function with maximum effectiveness. This efficient clearing of casualties was a direct contribution to the success of the operations.
