Biography

Sergeant George Chirrey Adam, 27, son of John Adam, and Jeannie Chirrey Adam, of Kirkcaldy, wireless operator of the Short Stirling MK1 BF415 which was shot down by a German night fighter near Montfoort on thursday 4 February 1943 during a mission to Hamburg. The entire crew was killed in the crash and is buried in the Montfoort Municipal Cemetery.

The text on his headstone reads:
'ONE FAMILY, WE DWELL IN HIM, ONE CHURCH, ABOVE AND BENEATH'
