Sergeant Leslie Howard Jenkins, 20, son of George and Bessie Jenkins, flight engineer of the Short Stirling MK1 BF415 which was shot down by a German night fighter near Montfoort on Thursday 4 February 1943 during a mission to Hamburg. He and the remaining crew were killed in the crash and are buried in the Montfoort Municipal Cemetery.
