Biography

Frederick Arthur Parton, aged 24, son of George and May Parton, of Stirchley, Birmingham, husband of Edna Parton. Air gunner of the Short Stirling MK1 BF415 which was shot down by a German night fighter near Montfoort on Thursday 4 February 1943 during a mission to Hamburg. He and the rest of the crew died in the crash and are buried in Montfoort Municipal Cemetery.

The inscription on his headstone reads:
'FOR EVER YOUNG AND SMILING, IN GOD'S ETERNAL SPRING'
