Member of the Resistance

On the instructions of a member of the NSB, Dalmeijer was arrested by the Landwacht on 11 August 1944, suspected of distributing resistance material. He was first locked up in the prison in Arnhem and from there transferred to the camp near Amersfoort. On 1 September 1944 he was transported to Germany and assigned to a group that had to work in a munitions factory near Leipzig.
Dalmeijer managed to escape from this work camp, but was caught again and locked up in the Rothenburg penal camp near Leipzig, where he died on 13 March 1945.
