Aspiring airline pilot / member of the Resistance

Kaastra was trained for the flying service. After the capitulation he soon joined the Resistance and took part in collecting weapons dropped by the English. He was caught by the Germans in the autumn of 1944 when he was transporting revolvers in bicycle bags. In February 1945 Kaastra was taken to camp Neuengamme, where he was hanged at the end of March.
