Director of Night Security Service
Duijkers was active in the Resistance during the war and was arrested by the occupiers at the end of 1944. He was transferred to the Neuengamme concentration camp near Hamburg. In May 1945, the approximately 9,000 prisoners of this camp were assembled on four ships, anchored in the Bay of Lübeck. Because it was thought that this was a troop transport, these ships were bombed by RAF aircraft on 3 May 1945. Duijkers was among the 4,208 victims.
