Biography

Gunner
Royal Canadian Artillery
17 Field Regt.

During the night of 16 to 17th April 1945 Bill has awakened all drivers before the Germans hit the wagon lines during the Battle of Otterlo. But the Canadians were out numbered and out gunned and the best Bill could do at this moment was to take another gunner with him down the road. But a mortar bomb hit the ditch on Bill’s side and a lot of shrapnels felt down, also on him.
