Biography

Donald Reid Starratt served as a tail gunner with the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 845th Bombardment Squadron, 489th Bombardment Group. Het toestel was Consolidated B-24 "Mizpah"

On October 19th, 1944, during a mission, his aircraft was damaged by enemy action. All nine crew safe, two suffering injuries. While in traffic pattern the aircraft lost two engines and the pilot was forced to land in a freshly plowed field at Moat Farm, Henstead, Suffolk. The aircraft was the Consolidated B-24 "Mizpah".
