Cornelis Antoons was a flower grower, had a relationship with Jeltje Kooistra and was active for the resistance groups the National Organisation for Assistance to People in Hiding (LO) and the Order Service (OD). He had Pieter Meindert Schreuder - chief of staff of the Order Service Groningen - go into hiding with him in 1944. They were arrested on 7 February 1945 due to betrayal. Antoons was executed on the spot.
