    Biography

The home of Rotterdam's Inspector of Police, Kors Christiaan de Pous on Boreelstraat in Rotterdam-Blijdorp was the headquarters of the Albrecht spy group during World War II. Here the information gathered was further developed, translated and prepared for transmission. The group also had a transmitter here for a month with which contact was kept with England. From this house, radio operator Tony Visser sent the message about the presence of an SS Panzerdivision near Arnhem that was later shown in a Bridge too Far.

De Pous himself was also active in espionage work because, as a police officer, he and his trusted associates had access to places normally off-limits. In the winter of 1944/1945, he cruised to liberated territory with information about the port of Rotterdam via the Biesbosch.
