The fallen man was born on 1 November 1926 in Roggendorf, the son of married couple Johann Uedelhofen and Franziska born Züll. In the heavy fighting for his Rheinische heimat, he fell on 30 January 1945 in Horst bei Großbeck and found his final resting place in the heroic cemetery Bedburg-Hau near Kleve. The Lord took him home to his father who preceded him into eternity on 11 February 1943.
