Biography

Sergeant, Flight Engineer RAF. On 2-11-1944, Halifax MZ829 KN-X of 77 Squadron crashed near Jalhay, Belgium. The aircraft had taken off from RAF Full Sutton, East Riding of Yorkshire for a mission to Dusseldorf and was shot down by a German night fighter on the way back. The entire crew was killed in the crash.

He was then temporarily buried at the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery in Plombières Belgium before being reburied at Hotton on 24 April 1947. The other fallen (RCAF) crew members were P/O William W. Lankin, age 19 in grave 3-E-6, F/O Harold F. Le Noury, age 26 in grave 3-E-3, P/O Vernon J. Lazier, age 22 in grave 3-E-9, F/O Robert E. B. Pike, age 21 in grave 3-E-7 and P/O Joseph Judges, age 21 in grave 3-E-5.
