Harold was born on February 21 1918 in Hamilton Ontario, the son of Frederick Le Noury and Ada Mabel Le Noury nee Le Prevost (both the Guernsey Channel Islands) of Hamilton. They were married on February 17 1917 in Hamilton. He was married on May 24 1940 in Hamilton with Phyllis Victoria Le Noury nee Stones of Hamilton. His brothers were Edward John and Ralph Thomas Le Noury (both also in the army) and his sister was Mildred Irene Le Noury.
He was a sales correspondent and member of the Anglican Church. He visited from 1923-1932 the Stinson St Public School in Hamilton and then the Technical High School in Hamilton from 1932-1943 (completed Grade X). He followed in 1942 an aircrew course at the Ontario Teacher’s College in Hamilton. His sports were hunting (extensively), bowling and swimming moderately and his hobby was music, piano and organ.
He enlisted on July 7 1942 in Hamilton and he went on November 9 1943 thereafter overseas to the UK. He received on October 15 1943 the Air Navigator Badge in Canada. He took part after the arrival in the UK to the different air operations of his squadron on NW Europe.
Harold was killed in action on Thursday November 2 1944 age 26 due to a crash 20 miles southeast of Liege Belgium before or after a night attack on Düsseldorf Germany. He was temporarily buried then at the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery in Plombières Belgium before being reburied on April 24 1947 in Hotton. The other fallen RCAF crew members were P/O William H. Hanes age 19 in grave 3-E-8, P/O William W. Lankin age 19 in grave 3-E-6, P/O Vernon J. Lazier age 22 in grave 3-E-9, F/O Robert E.B. Pike age 21 in grave 3-E-7 and P/O Joseph Judges age 21 in grave 3-E-5. The other fallen RAF crew member Sgt Edward J. Payne age 21 was buried in grave 3-E 4.

He was awarded on December 9 1946 posthumously the Operational Wings and Certficate in recognition of the gallant service against the enemy.
Pilot Officer Le Noury is also commemorated on the Canadian Memorial of Tigelot in Jalhay, Belgium (since September 21 1951).
He served with The Royal Canadian Air Force 77 (R.A.F) Sqdn.
