Biography

At the beginning of WW2 Jean Daubard was a pilot in the French air force. He was brought to London in 1942 and recruited by the BCRA. Back in France he organized a resistance group which stretched from Brittany to Bordeaux.

"Elite officer who devoted himself to the Resistance from the end of 1942. Created from scratch a large intelligence network of remarkable efficiency and which, under his energetic leadership, continued to develop until the Liberation. Demonstrated at the head of this network the finest leadership qualities, taking the boldest initiatives and assuming all risks despite the serious dangers that the arrests in his immediate entourage made him personally run."

A créé de toutes pièces un important réseau de renseignements d'une efficacité remarquable et qui, sous son énergique impulsion, n'a cessé de se développer jusqu'à la Libération. A fait preuve à la tête de ce réseau des plus belles qualités de chef, prenant des initiatives les plus hardies et assument tous les risques malgré les graves dangers que les arrestations dans son entourage immédiat lui faisaient personnellement courir

"Commandant DAUBARD joined a French intelligence réseau and became head of one of its sectors. He organised and developed this sector with such success that towards the end of 1943 it had become an independent réseau covering a wide area.

A great deal of valuable intelligence was provided by the organisation, notably on V1 launching bases.

Commandant Daubard continued to direct the excellent work of his réseau until the liberation of France."
