Harold Charles Seedhouse was born on 5 October 1923 in Toronto, the son of John Henry Seedhouse and Mary Seedhouse-Compton (both English) of Victoria British Columbia. They were married in Toronto on 5 June 1920. His brother was John H. Seedhouse and his sister was Mrs Muriel Mary Thorne.
He attended the Kennedy Public School from 1930-1938 and then the Kennedy High School from 1838-1940. His hobby was model aeroplanes and his sports were ice skating and swimming. He was a lorry driver and a member of the Church of England.
He enlisted in Vancouver on 10 November 1942. He received the Air Gunner's Badge in Canada on 6 August 1943 and then went overseas to the UK on 19 September 1943. He participated in five different air operations of his squadron to NW Europe after arriving in the UK.
Harold died on Sunday 23 April 1944 at the age of 20 as a result of a crash near Veldhoven in Belgium during a mission to Düsseldorf in Germany. He was temporarily buried at Brustem (St Truiden) in Belgium before being reburied at Heverlee in Coll 5.E. 19-25 on 26 March 1947. The other RCAF crew member killed was P/O Henry G. Boissevain, age 23 in Coll.5.E. 19-25. The other crew members were Sgt James G. Cumming RAF-VR also buried in Coll.5.E. 19-25, and Sgt John W. Dunford RAF-VR, age 27 buried at the Rheichswald Forest War Cemetery in Germany in grave 1-C-10. The other crew members F/O W.L. Canter, F/O A.W. Norris, both RCAF and F/Sgt A.M.P. Camenzulli were able to leave the aircraft and became prisoners of war. P/O P.A. Schnobb was also able to jump and was able to go into hiding....
His mother was awarded The Memorial Bar in January 1946. A plaque was unveiled at Lozen church in Belgium on 11 November 204 with the crew's names on it. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force 433 Sqdn.
