Biography
Skipper Lieutenant Alexander Watson, during peacetime a Skipper of a Trawler sailing out of Dundee, Scotland joined the Navy at the outbreak of war and served as an Acting Temporary Skipper Lieutenant in command of a LCT and was posted to the Middle East where he served notably at Tobruk and during the D Day landings.

Citation:
"For courage and skill in bringing down an enemy aircraft during the landings in Normandy."
He was presented with his award at an investiture at Buckingham Palace on the 27th of July 1945, by HM King George VI.
