Biography

Udo Pipkorn was a medical doctor. He served in the company of „Goslarer Jäger" and was drafted in the army as a physician in December 1939. This regiment went west to Netherlands-Belgium-France. The operation was done without any heavy fighting. The regiment stayed for some month in France until it had the order to enter a train towards east. Instead of going home, they joined the east front. There it got involved in heavy fighting.

Dr. Udo Pipkorn was wounded at his left arm by a sniper bullitt in 1943. This happened south of Moscow near the city of Tuula. He was brought back for medical treatment to a hospital in Breslau and later in Göttingen.
In Breslau, he met his later swedish wife. In winter 1944, after the evacuation of Breslau, she came to meet him in Göttingen, where they got married.

In 1947 they emigrated to Sweden and started a new life.
He worked as medical doctor and had 6 children. He died in 1982.
