1.) Establishing a bridgehead over the Oka river near Wysokinichi while operating ahead of his supporting infantry against a tough defense (14.10.1941).

2.) Playing a decisive role in defeating a Soviet armoured attack, during which his 4 Sturmgeschütze were able to destroy 15 Soviet tanks (16.11.1941).
