Biography

Herbert Bauer flew a total of 1071 sorties during WWII, including 70 with the Fw 190. In this time he achieved 11 confirmed aerial victories (1 with the Ju 87 and 10 with the Fw 190) plus another 12 unconfirmed victories. His successes against ground targets included 51 tanks and 2 armoured trains destroyed. He also placed direct hits against the battleship "October Revolution" and a cruiser in the Kronstadt harbour.
