"Has awarded himself by acts of bravery, merit and faith, while under bombardment on MAy 10th 1940 starting and getting airborne with his airplane, shooting on enemy planes and after getting without munition landing on Schiphol airport again. Has without any rest and without any cover refiled his airplane together with the groundpersonnel, started again for his second fight, landing, refilling and getting airborne for a third time. Was killed during this third flight, fighting an overwhelming enemy. Shot down an unknown amount of enemy planes."
