On the 03.02.1945 Soviet forces thrust forward north of Seregelyes (Hungary) towards the southwestern corner of Lake Velence. During the course of this attack, on the 06.02.1945, they launched a particularly strong attack towards the northwest with the support of about 20 tanks. Hauptmann Bobbe met this attack with his Bataillon of Grenadiers and managed to defeat it. He was later awarded the Knight’s Cross for this feat.
