“Kapitän zur See Bütow, Commander of the Torpedo Boats, achieved great merit during the Norwegian campaign due to his personal commitment and boldness with regards to both the occupation and in particular the landing of our troops despite strong enemy resistance. Since early 1940 he has directed the S-Boat operations in the western area of operations, and in this role he has had a decisive share in the great successes of our S-Boats. Kapitän zur See Bütow has personally led a number of successful naval sorties.”
