Biography

Wilfried Herling was killed on November 28th, 1943 at the airfield Bolsch. near Kostromka. He was posthumously promoted to Hauptmann. By this time his mission count stood at approximately 700.

When his body was transferred to the German cemetery Kirowograd he could not with certainty be identified. Therefore he was buried as an unknown soldier in Plot 15.
