Biography
Siegfried Engfer entered the Wehrmacht in 1935 as Infantryman and volunteered for the Luftwaffe in 1937.
May 1941: 9./JG 3
04.6.1941: severely WIA
Beginning 1942: Campaign in Russia
Summer 1942: earned his nickname „Lederstrumpf"
02.10.1942: RK credited with 52 victories
28. 5. 1943: Jagdlehrer - Erg. Gr. Ost
Contracted a severe illness that put an end to his career as a pilot
Siegfried Engfer is credited with 348 missions and 59 victories, mostly earned on the Eastern Front
