Biography

Cornelis (Kees) Brouwer from Dordrecht was a member of-and, after the arrest of his predecessor Theo van Lier in April 1944, headed the Albrecht Espionage Group from mid-1943 until the end of the war. In January 1945 he traveled by crossline through the Biesbosch to discuss with the authorities the accute shortage of insulin and diffterieserum in occupied Holland which was then successfully transferred by the crossers. Droppings by air were less successful.

After the war he was active in refugee work, at the United Nations and for several years a member of the Council of State.
