Citation:
"For extraordinary heroism and distinguished service in the line of his profession as Division Leader and Pilot of a Fighter Plane in Marine Fighting Squadron THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE (VMF-333), Marine Air Group THIRTY-THREE (MAG-33), FOURTH Marine Aircraft Wing, in aerial combat against enemy Japanese forces during the assault on Okinawa Shima, Ryukyu Islands, on 22 April 1945. Leading his division of planes in two engagements against more than fifty enemy suicide dive bombers, Major Dorroh personally destroyed six Japanese planes and, by his intrepid spirit, contributed to the complete rout of the enemy. By his superb airmanship, courage and gallant devotion to duty, Major Dorroh upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
