Anthony B. Kouma joyned the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942. He served during World War Two, in Korea and Vietnam.

In 1951 he married Marjorie Dixon, with who he raised nine children. After the death of his wife he retired as a Sergeant-major and took up his civilian life as a schoolbus driver. He later remarried to Mary Henehan, who died just before he himselve passed away.
