"As commander of flying boat X-35 of the Dutch Royal Navy, for two months in a row, being very capable,showing tactical insight, initiative, high moral, and enurance during numurous reconnaissence patrols over enemy territory and more particular:
1- During a succesfull battle with an enemy patrol plane on December 9th 1941;
2- During a patrol on behalf of the Dutch submarine HrMs K 14, where an enemy transport fleet was shadowed and battle was engaged with enemy fighters where the submarine was given the oppertunity to near the enemy fleet;
3- After the last battle being able to bring backt the heavy damaged flying boat, safely to its base."
