    Biography

    Theodor Gilbert Morell was born on 22nd July 1886 in Trais-Münzeberg (now called Münzeberg) in Hesse. Morell followed education in several medical disiplines. In 1913 he wrote a dissertation on gynacology, whith which he received his degree in medicine.

    During the First World War he shortly served as batallion phisician pn the Western Front and later as army physician in a Prisoners-of-War camp in Ohrdurf.

    It was Heinricht Hoffmann, a trustee of Adolf Hitler, who brought him into contact with Hitler. some time later Morell became the personal physician of Hitler, a job he was to held until 22nd April 1945.

    Morell died on 26th May 1948.
