Biography
Bomb Aimer, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserves. serving from 20 September 1941, promoted from Flight Officer to Flight Lieutenant on 5 December 1945.
His Halifax LV867 was hit by FLAK fire on 23 April 1944 during a mission to Dusseldorf and had to make an emergency landing near Helenaveen. Fernyhough initially managed to go into hiding in Zelzate (B) with the help of the resistance under the name Theodore Jonkers.
