“I request the Knight’s Cross for Oberst Eichler, commander of the Grenadier-Regiment 212.

During the hard defensive battles of the 28.01.1943 he distinguished himself through his exemplary bravery and the counterattacks he conducted on his own initiative. In doing so he enabled the Korps to pull back to a new defensive position.”
