Biography

Claude Owens was born on 23rd December 1920 in Alabama. He grew up in a family with five children, father Otto and mother Margareth. Two of his brothers died at an early age. Claude's nickname was Fuzzy for his slender looks and his love for his furr sweater. He married Esther Agnes Wooley, with who he had a child named Claude R. Owens. The family lived in Vandenburg, Indiana. His son was 10 to 11 months old when Claude died.
Claude Owens joined the military on 2nd July 1941 at FT Benjamin Harrison Fort, Indiana.
His two brothers (William Ivan Owens en James Frederick Owens) also joined the service. Both survived the war. Claude died on 30th November 1944 near Beek. He was missing in action until 7th December.
