John F. Burnett was a member of Company A, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. After seizing the Graafse brug over the Maas-Waalkanaal near Nijmegen, day his unit was guarding the bridge.
At night on September 18th, 1944 he was accidentally shot by an American Engineer form an other unit.
