Recommendation:
He has distinguished himself in the fighting in the interior by eminent acts of courage, tact and loyalty, continuouisly risking his life:
1) in June 1941, acting as Chief of Staff of the Gewest Amsterdam of the Ordedienst, he made a considerable contribution to the establishment of this Gewest (region);
2) from August 1942 onwards having led this organization in an exceptionally courageous and most capable manner and turning it into a truly military organization despite the threat of partial or total desintegration due to the many arrests taking place; it has been due to his superb leadership from the moment he took charge that the number of victims in the Ordedienst was limited to a minimum despite increasing risk of life;
3) in September 1944, at the establishment of the Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten (home army), having set an eminent example of loyal coordination; thereby lending unselfish, courageous and indispensable support to his commander and also as commander of the Bewakingstroepen;
4) in April having negotiated with high ranking enemy authorities in order to achieve that submerged obstacles be destroyed and further demolishing and mass executions be suspended.

For exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service as leader of a resistance group in the Netherlands. Colonel Six assisted the Deputy Commander of the Interior Forces of the Netherlands in the organization and fusion of all groups and then became leader and commander of all armed resistance personnel with special tasks, an assignment which he discharged with great distinction.
