Biography

Johannes Jan Versteegen was born on May 5th, 1918 as the son of Theodorus Versteegen and Grietje van der Veen.

was placed as an enlisted man with the Cavalry on 10th October 1938. He was killed in action on 13th May 1940 as Dienstplichtig Wachtmeester, 1e Regiment Huzaren Motorrijders.

Voluntarily admitted himself in capturing enemy machinegun posts; hereby getting killed."
