Bissonnette, Alfred

Nationality:
American (1776 - present, Republic)

Biography

At the age of 23, my father, Capt. Alfred Bissonnette, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with the bronze leaf cluster and the Air Medal with the silver oak leaf clusters. Little is known as to why he was given these awards, other than he was a pilot for the 7th Army Air Force who participated in a series of strikes at the Japanese held base of Ponape in the Marshall Islands.
