Biography

John L. Malone followed his education at the Hume Fogg High School in Nashville Tennesee, where he graduated in 1937. He worked as a Stock Clerc with General Electric Supply in Nashville Tennesee from 1940 until 1943, followed by an occupation as Detail Assembler with Ford Motor Co., Willow Run, Michigan (1943-1944). He was inducted into active service on June 15th, 1944 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. After four months having served as a Private, he was promoted to Sergeant as Anti Tank Squad Leader. Ten months later he becam Intelligence NCO with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He left for the Pacific on February 9th, 1945, where he arrived on February 16th. On January 21st, 1946 he returned to the United States, where he arrived on February 3rd. He was honorably discharged on February 10th.
