Lawrence Allen attended Prince of Wales School and Sandwich Collegiate Institute and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1940. He lived in Windsor, Ontario where he was a theatre manager.
He enlisted in the RCAF in January 1942 and went oversees in October in that year. His first tour of operations was with No. 420 'Snowy Owl' Squadron in Africa. Following that he was posted in England and joined the Pathfinders.
He was killed in action with No.405 Squadron, flying in a Lancaster. He lies buried in Belgium, Webbekom Cemetery (Antwerp).
