Recommendation:
"On 6th June 1944, Captain T.H. Macer led, close behind the assault troops, a reconnaissance party of the Beach Group Ammunition Dump and organised and supervised the labour in that dump. Captain Macer's strenious personal efforts contributed very greatly to the successful working of this Dump over the ciritical days when the area was under enemy fire and it was essential for very large tonnages of ammunition to be handled very rapidly.
Captain Macer later did excellent work as adjutant and for the Rhine assault on 24 March 1945, when the Battalion acted as Bank Group he, with his Commanding Officer, had the great responsibility of exercising the central control of all personnel and vehicles crossing the Rhine on a complete assault divisional sector. Captain Macer has been outstanding in his efficient work during the entire campaign."
Recommendation was received on July 5th, 1945 and passed on July 6th, 1945. It was awarded on January 24th, 1946.
