    Servicenumber 1591786, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

    Nick Nicholson was born in Hull on January 3rd, 1925. He volunteered for RAF service in 1943 but was rejected on the grounds of ill health due to Tuberculoses. After being sent off for The Charles Atlas body building course, he returned to the recruitment office 12 weeks later and passed fit for A1 Air Crew. He was trained as air gunner and in February 1944 volenteered for the Pathfinder Force. Nick Nicholson was posted to No. 35 Squadron. He flew a total of 57 missions as a Pathfinder including 2 as Deputy Master Bomner and 3 as Master Bomber.
